Caryn Hazel Sanchez, 56 of Raton, passed away on October 27, 2023, in Albuquerque, NM. She was born September 20, 1966, in Raton, NM. Daughter of Benny F. Sanchez and Mary Helen Martinez-Sanchez. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Mary Sanchez of Raton, sister Priscilla Vargas of Raton, brother Ben(Bento) Sanchez of Raton, and Nephew Isacc Sanchez of Raton.
She is survived by her son Joshua Sanchez and wife Jasmine of Moab Utah, daughter Vanessa Lemus-rivera and Wife Melissa Rivera of Trinidad, CO, son Augusto Sanchez of Raton, daughter Tamara Lelutin and girlfriend Tyler Topping of Albuquerque, NM. Brother Alfonso Sanchez and wife Viola of Trinidad CO. Sister Alice Martinez and fiance Randy Marchiondo of Raton, brother John Sanchez of Raton, sister Christina Sanchez of Denver CO, companion Wayne Vigil and stepdaughters Amber, April, and Erin Vigil all of Raton, NM. Also surviving brother-in-law Mike Vargas of Raton and God Mother Hazel Casarez of Raton.
Caryn was blessed with beautiful grandchildren, Joshua and Jathan Sanchez, Bella, Karly, and Abriana Garcia, Anna Marie Sanchez, Katlyn Alvarez, and Benjamin and Zayden Sanchez.
Rest easy Caryn. Although we would have loved to keep her here with us, she is at peace and no longer in pain. We will all miss your love, laughter, kindness, and compassion.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will take place on December 13, at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Mass of resurrection is immediately following the rosary.
A reception will follow the mass at the Raton Convention Center. Food donations are needed and are greatly appreciated. All food donations can be taken to the convention center on the morning of December 13 before services.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Alderette Funeral Home in Raton.
