age of 13. She was a piano player at First Southern Baptist Church (now, Fisher’s Peak
Community Church) for many years and enjoyed singing duets with her husband Ross on guitar.
She loved to sew clothes as well and made many mother/daughter matching dresses for herself
and her daughter Glenna. When she wasn’t working, sewing, or playing piano, you could find Ruth
cooking up a storm of meals and goodies like cinnamon rolls, dinner rolls, and her famous
cherry cheesecake, to name a few. Later in life, her hobbies included doing jigsaw puzzles and
word search books. Her family enjoyed hearing stories from her time on the farm as a child with
her horse Flicka and a border collie named Ring.
