The annual Christmas Tree lighting and electric static light parade were held in downtown Raton Friday evening in Ripley Park and on historic First Street.

11 entities made it into the parade this year with awards being given to three floats. First place went to Santa’s Workshop with second place going to the City of Raton who brought out the big wagon for the event. Third place went to Santa’s Sled. Several of the first street businesses were open to allow the crowds to come in and warm up bit and browse the goods as the temperatures for the parade dipped into the mid 20s.
