In Loving Memory of Minnie Lousie Payne

Minnie Lousie Payne age 86 passed away November 14, 2023, at Trinidad Rehabilitation
and Healthcare Center after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Rouse Colorado on April
6, 1937 to Joseph Febbraro and Roma (Della Vecchio) Febbraro.
Minnie attended school in Trujillo Creek and Aguilar Co. She married George Payne on
August 9, 1954, in Raton, New Mexico. George was in the US Air Force and together they
traveled the world. They lived in Turkey, Okinawa, Alaska, and several other locations. Along the
way, they had four children. George died in 1989 and Minnie moved to Las Vegas Nevada and
worked as a cashier at the Jokers Wild Casino until retiring at the age of 79. Minnie was a
devoted mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Roma, her son David, sister
Roma Duran, sister-in-law Vivian Febbraro, nephews Gregory and Wesley Febbraro.
She is survived by her children Michael and Nancy Payne of Trinidad, Douglas and Tish
Payne of Tucson Arizona, Susan and Lonnie Jarret of Henderson Nevada, brother Joseph
Febbraro of Trinidad, Colorado, brother-in-law Larry Duran of Mexico, grandchildren, Denali and
Stacy Avila of Ledyard Connecticut, Brian and Nicole Payne of Columbus Montana, Kelly and
Erica Payne of Trinidad Colorado, great-grandchildren Brianna and Sam, Devon, and Marie,
Michael and Emily, Anthony, Danielle and Connor, Lonnie Jr, Kelly Jr, Hannah and Andrew,
Josh, great-great-grandchildren, Mia, Adalinn, Jayce, and Oliver, and many cousins, nephews
and nieces.
Services will be held at the Comi Funeral Home Chapel in Trinidad at 1:00 pm November 27,
2023. Burial at a later date.
Funeral Arrangements were made under the care of Comi Funeral Home.
