In Loving Memory of Elias Richard George

Elias Richard George passed away at home on October 6, 2023 at the age of 81.
He was born in Trinidad, Colorado on August 1, 1942, to Margaret (Givens) and George
T. George. He graduated from Trinidad High School. He then served in the U.S. Navy
during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. Upon discharge from the Navy,
Richard returned home to take care of his father and mother. He served as a fireman
with the Trinidad Fire Department and was later promoted to Fire Chief. He was a long-standing member of the Masons in Raton and Trinidad #1.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret George, brother
Gerald George, sister Marie George, and sisters-in-law Ruth George and Mary Theresa
George, and nephews Tony Lee George, Jackie George, and Richard George. He is
survived by his brother Anthony George from Wisconsin, nephew Gerald George, Jr. of
Trinidad, CO, and niece Jean George of Wisconsin.
Other relatives and friends also survive. He lovingly cared for his sister Mary George
until her passing.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the
services at 1:00 p.m. at the Comi Chapel with Pastor Nelson officiating.
Interment will follow at the Trinidad Masonic Cemetery
