Dane Tapp passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of his home on September 27, 2023. Dane was born February 9, 1948, in Lebanon, Oregon and Trinidad has been his home for over 40 years. He owned and operated The Golden Nugget Bar and Restaurant for several years and then decided to open and run Quick Lube and Tire until his retirement in 2020.
Dane is survived by the love of his life Nonie. Married for 25 years, you rarely ever saw one without the other. He is also survived by his two stepchildren, Tommy Martinez (Dawn Martinez), Jeannie Velasquez (Marty Velasquez), and their children, Chelsea Velasquez, Joel “JT” Velasquez, and Dakota Martinez. He is also survived by his brother Judd Alan Jeppsen.
Dane is proceeded in death by his dad, Harvey Judd Jeppsen, and his mother, Helen L. Coates.
Dane and Nonie enjoyed camping and fishing in their 5th wheeler RV, and in their earlier years, they enjoyed riding their Harley Davidson motorcycle, and their adventures on their 4-wheelers. Dane loved his cats. He was a very kind and compassionate man. He was also a lifetime member of the Elks 181 which just happened to be where Dane and Nonie enjoyed going for their weekly date night.
Because of Dane’s wishes, there will be no services. He would rather you think of good memories and happy thoughts of him, and perhaps even a drink or a beer in his memory.
Wait for me at the gates of Heaven sweetheart. I will see you there as soon as God releases me from this life. Love you now and forever, Nonie.
I often sit and think about the years that have passed by,
And of the happiness and joy that was shared by you and I,
I think of all the laughter, the smiles, and all the fun
And before I even know it, the tears have once again begun.
For although it brings me comfort to walk down memory lane,
It reminds me how, without you, Life will never be the same.
