Raton/Maxwell hosted the very first cross country meet at the Raton Country Club Friday afternoon September 8, 2023 with six teams from the area.
Raton and Maxwell teams faired well with the Raton Varsity Girls taking team first place and the Maxwell middle school boys also taking first place in that category. Raton’s Kalynn Salazar took first place in the girl’s individual with Raton’s Logan Sisco taking first place in the boys individual category.
Teams participating in the meet were Boise City Oklahoma, Cimarron, Des Moines, Maxwell, Mora and Raton.
