Robert Lee Cole, 74 passed away peacefully with family by his side on September 5, 2023. He was born on February 11, 1949, to George and Josephine Cole. He graduated from Trinidad High School in 1967. Following graduation, he served with the US Navy in Vietnam on the USS Constellation. He worked for the BNSF Railroad until his retirement. He loved being in his yard, fishing, and spending time with his family and his dogs.
He was welcomed in Heaven by his wife Sally Cole, sons Michael, Richard, and James, twin brother George, brother Oney, and his parents.
He is survived by, son Travis and Megan Cole, daughter Melissa and Shawn Sears, daughter Bobbie Jo and Marc Giezen, and grandchildren Greyson, Declan, Grant, and Meredith. He is also survived by many siblings, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on September 12, 2023, at Comi Funeral Home, 3:00-6:00 pm public viewing. A service of remembrance will be held on September 13, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at First Christian Church (200 S. Walnut St., Trinidad, CO), with burial to follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
