Bernice Ida Martinez
Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her daughters on August 25th, 2023. She was 87 years old born in Swink, Colorado. The daughter of Jose & Delores (Gomez) Gonzales.
Bernice is proceeded by her husband Richard Moreno of LaJunta,, Co and their 3 children, Richard Moreno (Annette Ruiz), Lenard Moreno (Joann Hernandez), and Abigail Perea(Arthur Perea), her 2nd husband, Jess Martinez of Trinidad and their 2 daughters; Sally Martinez, Sherri Bacharach (Dave Bacharach), her adopted daughter Roberta Owens (NaamonOwens), and her lifelong partner Leo B. Garcia (deceased) of New Mexico, 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 6 deceased siblings, Julian Gonzales (Arizona), Felix Gonzales (Pueblo), Leroy Gonzales (Trinidad), Susie Quintana (La Junta), Eleanor Apodaca (Texas), 2 living siblings Cecilia and Ben (deceased) Lucero of Arizona and Eloy Gonzales and wife Ida of the Philippines.
Bernice was an avid reader who loved to gamble and spend time with her family.

Visitation is at Comi Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 6th from 3 pm-6 pm followed by Rosary services at 6:00 pm. Funeral services are at Holy Innocents Catholic Church located at 147 W. Colorado Ave, on Thursday, September 7th at 10 am. Burial to follow.
