Many have heard that INBank has sold the downtown office building and rumors have run wild as to the future of INBank and the building. Wednesday August 9, INBank officials held a small presentation at the downtown branch to dispel the rumors.

Ed Francis, CEO of the said, “We are investing in this community because we believe in this community” is the message that was presented to those in attendance Wednesday afternoon. He went on to speak about the bank and what the future will bring. He noted that INBank has a 65% market share and that INBank is the fourth largest bank in the state of New Mexico. The bank has grown from a $300 million bank in 2018 to a $1.3 billion bank.

The new owner of the building, Andrew Leafe was on hand and told the crowd that he is planning to revitalize and bring back the hotel. Leafe went on to say that there is a lot to do with the building and it will be a big project. He plans to open things up slowly and hopefully by early 2024 will have things in place to be able to present some hotel style services to the community.

The big news for INBank was the construction of a new modern banking facility in south Raton. The south branch building will be demolished and a whole new facility will be built on the location. Mark Chrisitan had the honor of revealing a rendering of what the new facility would look like. When asked about the size of the new building he noted that the details were still being ironed out, but they are hoping for a structure with 3000 to 4000 square feet with a conference room for meetings. He added that Leafe was gracious enough to allow INBank to rent the bottom floor of the building until the new facility is built which should be in the next 15 to 18 months.

He added that there will be two drive up lanes and an ATM in the vestibule for customers. Christian said, “we are grateful for your business.” He went on to say that he hoped they made a favorable impression and asked those to become customers of the bank.

David Brown spoke about the history of the bank and how it got its start in 1918.
