Elaine Olivas, age 85, died on Monday, July 10, 2023, in Beaver, Oklahoma.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Sunday, July 16, 2023, and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Fr. Trieu Van Vu as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Elaine (Martinez) Olivas was born on October 6, 1937, in Pasamonte, New Mexico to Pedro Martinez and Juanita (Leal) Martinez. Elaine was a resident of Clayton, New Mexico most of her life and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton. Elaine married Isidro Olivas on June 22, 1967, in Clayton, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on January 10, 1982. She worked at the nursing home in Clayton as a cook and as an aide for many years and also worked at the Nu-Way Café in Clayton for several years. In addition to her parents and husband, Elaine was also preceded in death by 3 sons, Steve Gonzales, Artie Beauchamp, and Frankie Hurtado, and by 3 grandsons, Arin Gonzales, Jason Sandoval, and Enoch Apadoca.

SURVIVORS:

4 DAUGHTERS: Darlene Graybill and her husband Gary of Fountain, Colorado, Loretta Apodaca and her husband Fred of Denver, Colorado, Connie Sanchez and her husband Ricky of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Gloria Olivas of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

6 SONS: Ronald Romero of Farley, New Mexico, Clarence Gonzales, Sr. and his wife Julia of Guymon, Oklahoma, Freddie Selders of San Antonio, Texas and Gilbert Gonzales and his wife Sharon, Isidor Olivas, Jr. and Blaine Olivas all of Clayton, New Mexico.

Grandchildren: Jonathan Sandoval, Bridget Leighnor, Clarence Gonzales, Jr., Liberty Ethidge, Ariel Olivas, and Athena Olivas.

Great-Grandchildren: Dylan Leighnor, Quinn Leighnor, Lennon Leighnor, Julian Leighnor, and Adrian Gonzales.

1 Great-Great-Granddaughter: Vivian Sandoval.

2 SISTERS: Julia Marquez of Clayton, New Mexico, and Esther Lucero of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

1 BROTHER: Joe Martinez, Sr. of Beaver, Oklahoma.
