The State Parks Division welcomes four new graduates from the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy as its newest Park Rangers

Santa Fe, NM – The State Parks Division (State Parks) of the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department would like to congratulate and welcome four newly certified and commissioned Park Law Enforcement Rangers (Park Rangers) who recently graduated from the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy (NMLEA).
The cadets received their police officer’s certification during a ceremony at the at the Santa Fe Indian School Gymnasium on May 25, 2023. Officer Marc Jimenez (Elephant Butte Lake), Officer Emily Gaston (Eagle Nest Lake), Officer Andrew Cole (Cimarron Canyon), and Officer Austin Franzoy (Elephant Butte Lake) were issued the oath of office to join the ranks of 50 other Park Rangers across the State Parks system.
Officer Marc Jimenez was also honored by the NMLEA with the “Top Driver” award. The Top Driver must consistently exhibit exceptional skills in emergency vehicle operations and accident avoidance during multiple timed exercises.
