Matthew J. Garcia-Alderette, born February 11, 1984, passed away on May 18, 2023, in Albuquerque, NM. Matthew is the son of Vince and Diana Alderette of Springer, NM. Growing up, Matthew was always fascinated with computers. At about the age of 11, he was working on writing his own Basic computer program, which he did and has since been credited with many gaming- edits.
Matthew graduated from Springer High School in 2002 while in high school Matthew was involved in student senate such as Student Council in which he was voted in at the State level and became a member of the New Mexico State Student Council Executive Board as the Second Vice president of the New Mexico Student Council. Matthew also took place in the New Mexico Super Computing Challenge sponsored by Las Alamos National Labs, which inspires young students intending on studying science, engineering, and computer science. After High School Matthew attended New Mexico Tech in Socorro, NM studying in the computer science and petroleum engineering programs. Matthew also started his own business repairing cell phones and computers for a brief period as well as in the merchandising sector.
Matthew is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Margie Armijo. He is survived by his parents Vince and Diana Alderette of Springer, NM. Sister; Victoria Alderette-Mwenguo and her husband Howard and his nephew De Angelo Mwenguo, all of Manchester, N.H. Grandfather Joe Armijo of Springer, NM., Aunt Yvonne Armijo, Cousins Danny Joe Turley and wife Colleen Bungard, Joseph Turley all of Springer, NM. Grandparents Victor and Lupita Alderette of Raton, NM. Uncles; Chris and Leilah Alderette of Las Vegas, NM. Josh Alderette, Matthew Alderette, Michael and wife Amanda Alderette all of Raton, NM. Friend Joe Sanchez of Albuquerque, NM. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends to even mention.
Mass of Christian Burial will be June 3, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Springer, NM. with Father Bill Woytavich as the Celebrant. Rite and Internment will follow in the Springer Cemetery.
