Frank Grubelnik of Aguilar, CO died peacefully on May 21, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones following a lengthy battle with COPD. he was born on August 15, 1952, in Raton, NM to Joe and Bertha (Franklin) Grubelnik.
Frank graduated from Aguilar High School with the class of 1970. he served in the Army National Guard for six years (1971-1977), where he was Honorably Discharged at the rank of Staff Seargent. Frank worked for the Colorado Department of Transportation for 30 years. After he retired, he went back to work for Walsenburg Sand and Gravel, his first job, and drove a school bus for Aguilar School District for many more years.
Frank married the love of his life Natalie on September 28, 1974. They had been married for 48 years. From this union, he was blessed with daughter Dawna (Jeremy), and son Micheal (Andrea). He was also the proud papa of five beautiful grandchildren Shayla (Bobby), Daniel, Makayla, Aubry, and Jeremy Jr.
Frank is survived by his sister Mary Ann (Terry), Sister-in-law Shelly, and brothers-in-law Dick (Sandy), and Mitch (Sherry). George (Jennifer) and numerous nieces and nephews and his absolute best friend Gary Vezzani.
A memorial service will be held for Frank on June 2, 2023, at the Comi Funeral Home in Trinidad, Colorado at 11 am. A reception will be held at the Aguilar Community Center following the services.
