On Saturday, February 25th, 2023, George Gallegos, Loving Father, Grandfather,
Brother, and Uncle, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 62.
George was born May 4th, 1960, in Springer, NM, to Richard (Chico Bear) Gallegos and
Magdelena Mama Bear) Esquibel Gallegos.
George was a hard worker and worked for numerous Construction Companies
throughout his life, his last being Kewitt Construction. He enjoyed spending time with his kids,
friends, and, most of all his grandkids. They would all put the biggest smile on his face when he
visited. George’s last few years of his life were lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They were
rough, but he ALWAYS managed to survive. His kids and grandkids when in Albuquerque would
find him and ask him, “Are you ready to come home?” and his reply was always the same, “No.
I’ll be ready when I’m done helping people here.” On the 25th of February, the lord knew he was
tired and knew his work helping others was done.
George was preceded in death by his father, Richard “Chico Bear” and mother, Magdelena
“Mama Bear”, and his son Jacob Gallegos. He is survived by his two children, Alicia “Gallegos”
Parker and Husband Jermain, Carlos Gallegos, and partner Kateri Tafoya.Two sisters, Antonia
Gallegos and Roberta “Gallegos” Smith. Daughter-in-Law Shantelle Gallegos. Eight
grandchildren: Jordan, Erich, Devirae, Destiny, Terrance “Bad Boy”, Eyleah, Christian, and
Brandon. Three Great grandchildren: Ava, Millie, and Amisti. Two nephews, Christopher
Gallegos and Joseph Smith. Five great nieces and nephews: Haley, Valerie, Dale, Brielle, and
Gianna, and numerous friends and family.
Cremation has taken place.
Graveside services for George Gallegos will be held May 27th @11am at Maxwell Cemetery. Following there will be a get-together to celebrate the life of George Gallegos at 710 Prospect Street in Springer. Anyone who knew and loved George is welcome to come! The family thanks everyone for the outpouring of support.
Services are under the direction of Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque, New
Mexico.
They were all from loving families. They are all resting in peace with the Lord. Amen.
