In Loving Memory of James Gilbert Mitchell (Gibo)

James Gilbert Mitchell (Gibo) passed away on April 22, 2023, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Gilbert was born in Maxwell, New Mexico, on April 18th, 1943. He had a passion for the Dallas Cowboys football team, which he often shared with his family and friends with great enthusiasm. Gilbert was preceded in death by his father Thomas Mitchell, his mother Amalia Mitchell, and his brother Thomas Mitchell, Jr. (Pinky). Gilbert is survived by his wife Janet Mitchell, his mother-in-law, Margaret Coughenour, his children Cary Mitchell, (wife Kathy), Christopher Mitchell, Colleen Price, and Cherie Mitchell, and grandchildren Tristan Price, Allison Price, Madison Price, Megan Mitchell, McKenna

Mitchell, Aailayh Mitchell, TaShawn Jackson, and Isabelle Christain. Gilbert also had three great-grandchildren, Aleeza, Arlene, and AriyElla. He was survived by his brothers, Allen (Gene) Mitchell, Joe Mitchell, (Shirley), and Anthony Mitchell (Beth), and his sisters, Yolanda Trujillo, (Raymond) Patricia  Vaughn, (Larry), and numerous nieces and nephews. Gilbert was a great father, husband,  grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. A celebration of life will be held on June 10th, 2023, at 11:00 at the Maxwell Cemetery in Maxwell, New Mexico
