Rosemary Valentini Malcom, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend, was called to heaven on January 3, 2023, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, just 8 days short of her 90th birthday. Rosemary was born January ll, 1933 in Raton, New Mexico to Lena and Frank Valentini. She graduated from Raton High School in 1951. On May 3, 1952, she married the love of her life, Robert F. Malcom, and they were married for 60 years before his death in 2012.

Rosemary enjoyed many activities in her lifetime and was an active member of the community for many years. She served as PTA President at Kearney Elementary School in Raton, as well as, a homeroom mother for all of her children. She was a Cub Scout leader and a sponsor for Raton High School Honor Society, Art Club, and Chorus. She served as a Democratic Precinct Judge for Colfax County for over 30 years. In her later years, she was one of the co-owners of The Coop in Raton.

Rosemary enjoyed playing golf and for several years was a member of the Raton Women’s Golf Association. She was also a talented ceramic artist and embroiderer and created the most beautiful pieces of artwork that she not only gave to family and friends but that she also sold.

Her greatest joy and fulfillment in life was her family, which she deeply loved and cherished. Her favorite activity was cooking or baking fabulous meals for her family. Her kitchen was always filled with the most wonderful mouthwatering aromas, and the food was delicious and prepared with love. She cherished the moments she could spend with her grandchildren sharing her favorite recipes and teaching them her techniques.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert F. Malcom, infant son Robert Val Malcom, parents Lena Quarieri Valentini and Frank J. Valentini, brothers Mondo, and Hiram Valentini, and son-in-law Dennis. L. Morgan.

She is survived by children Michael A. Malcom and wife Sharon of Raton, NM; Lena L. Malcom of Belen, NM; Nikki V. Malcom and husband David M. Kilpatrick of Cheyenne, WY; and John A. Malcom and wife Jean of Los Lunas, NM; God son Larry Valentini and wife Christine of Raton, NM; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rosemary will be laid to rest with her husband Robert and son Robert Val at Fairmont Cemetary, Raton, NM.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Holiday Inn Express in Raton, NM.

The family would like to thank Noblin Funeral Service, Belen, NM; Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home, Raton, NM; and Schrader, Aragon & Jacoby Funeral Home, Cheyenne, WY, for the arrangements.
