In Loving Memory of Marietta Gay Shell

Marietta Gay Shell was born to the late Benjamin Mariam Ross and Dorothy Arlene Reno on August 03, 1941. She departed this earthly life on Saturday, April 15, 2023.

Marietta leaves to cherish her memories with her beloved Husband W. Gail Shell, sons Duane Shell, and Ben Shell and stepson Nathaniel Shell, her brother Loy Ross, grandchildren Remington Shell, Shila Shell, Shalese Shell, and Jessica Bruton, Great Grandchildren Amilese Shell, DeVae Lovato, Autumn Lovato, Gatlyn Shell, Eavenese Shell, Canon Shell, Londyn Lovato, Remington Shell (jr).
She is proceeded in death by her mother Arlene Reno, father Benjamin Ross, brother Lee Ross, stepmom Shirley Ross, and stepdad Fred Reno.
Marietta had many accomplishments through her successful lifetime including a multi-cowboy camp cook at the UU bar ranch, working as a teller at Springer Bank, Secretary of the Springer Municipal Schools, Secretary of the Maxwell Municipal Schools, UPS Driver, Colfax County Commissioner (2 terms), Chairman of NM County Commissioners (1 term), and retired after being the Colfax County Probate Judge (2 terms). Many activities she loved to partake in included running and winning Colfax County Fair and Rodeo Queen, announcing Colfax County Fair Horse Shows, gardening, and competing in fair activities. She was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association, volunteered at The High Praise Ranch, was a board member of the Springer Senior Citizens Center, and was an American Quarter Horse breeder that produced many championships race horses. She cherished all the moments with her family, friends, and co-workers throughout the beautiful years she was blessed with and always held dear to her heart.

Colfax County Fair Ground Pavilion
Burial to follow at the Springer Cemetery
And Reception Potluck Luncheon to follow back at the CCF group pavilion.
