House Fire Totals Two Trailer Houses Monday

Fire Fighters from Raton Fire and Emergency Services along with Colfax Rapid Response responded to a call of a house fire at 2:16 p.m. Monday afternoon in the 1100 block of Price Street.

When Fire fighters arrived on scene one trailer house was fully engulfed and the fire spread to the house trailer directly west and affected an RV parked in front of the west trailer as well. Both structures are considered a total loss with one trailer being occupied and the other’s occupancy is unknown according to Fire Chief Anthony Burk.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire Fighters are surveying the scene to determine if there are any more hot spots in the house that needs water Monday afternoon in the 1100 Block of Price.
