Raton Lady Tigers hosted the Lady Demons from Santa Fe High Wednesday afternoon and pulled out a come from behind win to give them a 3-14 record on the season.
It was a slow start for Raton after Santa Fe drove in four runs on two walks and three hits. Raton’s Addison Medina took a double on errors and then worked her way around for the single run for Raton. Raton’s second inning saw base hits that turned into scores on errors tie the game at the end of the second inning.
Raton held Santa Fe scoreless in the third and added another four runs to take the 8-4 lead on base hits after Samantha Phillips started it off with a walk. Raton would go on to score in the last three innings and hold Santa Fe to a four and out in the top of the seventh to finish off the game and the win for Raton.
Raton’s Haydyn Middlebrook went the distance with four strikeouts and seven walks in the game. Jess Lopez started the game for Santa Fe and went three innings with Brianna Trujillo coming in during the bottom of the third and finished off the game for Santa Fe. Lopez had two strikeouts and one walk while Trujillo did seven strikeouts and walks.
