Raton Senior Cole Hopper Signs with Highlands University

Raton High Senior Cole Hopper signed a letter of intent to play football at Highlands University in Las Vegas New Mexico today Wednesday March 29, 2023 in the Media Center at Raton High School accompanied by his parents, sister and grandparents.

Hopper was joined by his coaches and the entire Raton varsity football team as he signed his letter of intent. Hopper who was a kicker for the Tigers before he suffered a knee injury in the middle of the season this last year. Hopper’s extra point kicks were a key factor in Raton making it into the playoffs this season even after suffering the knee injury. Hopper even added a few points with field goals out past the twenty yard line.

When asked why Highlands University Hopper said he liked the color purple. He also noted the football program at Highlands promotes academics first and the cherry on top is to play football.
