Tom Devany age 80, passed away peacefully at his home in Springer NM, March 16, 2023. He was a former resident of Albuquerque, NM. He was born in Passaic, NJ., on September 19, 1942 to Thomas Myron Devany and Mary (Em) Devany. He graduated from Bernardsville High School and then attended and graduated from the University of Albuquerque.
He is survived by his wife Marla of nearly 51 years, two children Tad (Alison) and Shannon (Joey), 7 grandchildren and a sister-in-law Aleta Buteau and numerous other family members.
He was a teacher for 30 years. He was very involved with the Knights of Columbus, the Boy Scouts of America and the Foster Grandparent Program. He sang with the Springer Choir.
Recitation of the most Holy Rosary will be on April 13, 2023, at St. Josephs Catholic church at 9:30 a.m. recited by the Knights of Columbus followed by the Mass of Christian Burial on April 13, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Trieu as the Celebrant. The Rite of Committal and inurnment will be at a later date. Funeral arrangements for Tom Devany are under the direction of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.
