The games Tuesday February 14, were moved up to 3:00 p.m. as Robertson travelled to Raton for the final regular season game for Raton and the four seniors on the team this year.
The JV girls took to the court and Raton started out and kept the game close in the first quarter then things went south as the Lady Cardinals poured on the pressure and held Raton to single digit scoring through out the game. The full court press and shots simply not making the basket gave Robertson the 33 point win.
The varsity game, well let’s say it was not a great night for Raton as an aggressive Robertson defense and almost flawless shooting propelled the Lady Cardinals to 20 plus scoring in the first half of play while Raton could only manage four points. Robertson had scored enough to put Raton down by 35 points and start the mercy clock for the remainder of the game.
The Lady Cardinals who came into the game (23-1) with only one loss this season which came in tournament play to Centennial a 5A team and 6-0 in district play. With a large lead Coach Jose Medina played his whole team getting plenty of playing time for his bench. As the running clock ran down quickly to the final buzzer the Lady Cardinals had a 56-10 win.
