Alexander J. Sanchez, age 76, passed away on January 29, 2023, at home surrounded by his family.
Alex was born April 21, 1946, in La Junta, Co, to Mary (Madrigal) and Frank L. Sanchez.
He attended Hoehne schools and was a graduate of the class of 1966.
Alex married his high school sweetheart Mary June Martinez. They celebrated 56 years of marriage. He was employed as a coal miner for 25 years in area mines and was a member of the UMWA local 9856.
He loved music and was always playing one of his many guitars. He also took great pride in caring for and tending to his yard. Preceding him in death are his parents, Mary and Frank Sanchez, and sisters, Connie, Lydia, and Julia. He is survived by his wife, Mary June Sanchez, daughter, Donna Sue, (Manuel)Torres, sons, Alex, A. Sanchez Jr, Toby,( Kathyrane) Sanchez, Rick Sanchez, 18 grandchildren, Tim, Jeremiah (Kyla), Jacob, Ashley, Michael, Matthew, Selena, Isaiah, Adrianna, Jaidynn, Genessee, Ricky, James, Brandon, Dannielle, Jacey, Xavier, 3 great-grandchildren, Mason, Jaydyn and Baby Torres. Also, surviving are brothers, Frank (Romona)Sanchez, Robert (Josie) Sanchez, Paul Sanchez, Arthur (Joan) Sanchez, David (Theresa) Sanchez, and Andy Sanchez. Sisters, Mary (Max) Padilla, Dora Sanchez, and Numerous other relatives, and friends also survive. Visitation will be Monday, February 13, 2023, from 3 PM to 7 PM at the Comi Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at which time the family is requesting that you honor their privacy. You are all invited to gather for the graveside services at 12:30 PM, at the Trinidad Masonic Cemetery.

Arrangements were made under the direction of the Comi Funeral Home.
