Dorothy Jean Mutton

Dorothy Jean Mutton age 88 of Raton, NM passed away on November 20, 2022. Dorothy was born December 21, 1933, in Raton, NM to Robert and Mary Alma Neish. Dorothy grew up and live with her parents on their farm on Johnson Mesa.
After high school, Dorothy met Remo Mutton, and after a few years, they were married and had two children. Dorothy was a wonderful and loving wife and mother. All through her daughter’s life Dorothy was there for them offering her support, encouragement, and love.
Throughout her entire life, Dorothy was very active and energetic and during her life, Dorothy had a variety of different jobs, including working as a telephone operator, a teacher’s assistant, and a substitute teacher. She worked at La Mesa Park and Anthony’s Jewelers for several years.
Dorothy was an avid bowler and she loved to gamble. She also loved hummingbirds, crossword puzzles, and classic country music. For many years she enjoyed spending time tending to her plants and flowers and crocheting.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Remo, brothers; George McElroy, and Joe McElroy (Della), and brothers and sisters-in-laws Dino Mutton and Joe ad Millie Marchiando.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters Jean Kamm and husband Terry. Susie Mutton and Dave Ortiz all of Raton, NM. Five grandchildren; Marsha, Jennifer, Zach, Allison, and Seth, their families, and seven great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary will the on January 23, 2023, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home recited by Frank Cimino followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home with Forrest McConnell officiating.
