NAME: Billie Jean Ethridge, age 94, died on Sunday, January 8, 2023 in Clayton, New Mexico.


SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 13th at the First United Methodist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Billy Rammage officiating. BACKGROUND: Billie Jean (Foltz) Ethridge was born on April 1, 1928, in Dalhart, Texas to Bill Foltz and Lydia (Weston) Foltz. Billie grew up in Dalhart, Texas, and graduated from Dalhart High School. While in high school, Billie was very involved in many activities, she was in the band and was the head drum major, a twirler, and was a barrel racer in the rodeos. Billie married Tommy Ethridge on May 7, 1950, in Clayton, New Mexico in the Methodist Church which is now the Herzstein Museum and he preceded her in death on July 5, 2016. Billie worked at the Citizens Bank in Dalhart until they moved to Clayton where Tommy and Billie owned and operated Ethridge Chevrolet in Clayton for 48 years before they sold the business and retired on December 12, 2007. Billie enjoyed playing cards and golf with her many friends. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clayton and the Eastern Star. In addition to her husband and parents, Billie was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Marie Ellen Culbertson and Mary Ann Taylor.

SURVIVORS:

2 SONS: Bryan Ethridge and his wife Ruby of Clayton, New Mexico, and Brad Ethridge and his wife Bambi of Twin Falls, Idaho.

6 GRANDCHILDREN: Jace Chandler Ethridge and his wife Tori, Sundari Michelle Zamora and her husband Jose, Chayna Marie Jones, Bryan James Ethridge and his wife Laura, Liberty Ethridge and Nettie Jean Ethridge.

3 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Elaine Olivas, Hayes Thomas, and Curtis Dustin Claypool.
