David Gene Wiseman, age 78, died on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in Amarillo, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 2, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Hilario Perez and Rev. Billy Rammage officiating. Burial will follow in the Grenville Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

David Gene Wiseman was born on October 25, 1944, in Grenville, New Mexico to Cromwell Albert Wiseman and Daisy Olive (Park) Wiseman. David served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a cowboy for the Toma Ranch, the T.O. Ranch, and for the Vermejo Park Ranch. He also worked as a volunteer Firefighter for the Grenville Fire Department. David also worked for the Union County Road Department for 33 years until he retired. David always had dinner every night at the Rabbit Ear C and later at the 87 Café, When David was in the nursing home in Clayton, the 87 Café would take him his lunch every day. David was preceded in death by his parents, by a sister, Lena Elam, a brother, Henry Wiseman, by three siblings as infants, Edna Imogene, Rexy Melvin, and Jackie Wayne, by a sister-in-law, Lynn Wiseman, and by three brothers-in-law, Juan Quintana, Walter Oldham, and Olan Elam.

SURVIVORS:

5 SISTERS: Evelyn Quintana of Dalhart, Texas, Deloris Wiseman and Lois Good both of Amarillo, Texas, Betty Oldham of Folsom, New Mexico, and Georgia McCarty and her husband Ray of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 BROTHER: Bill Wiseman of Grenville, New Mexico.

Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins and many many friends.

MEMORIALS: The family asks that memorials be made in David’s memory to the Grenville Fire Department or to the VA.
