Wanda Leedean “Deanie” (Weese) Swanson, age 71, died Tuesday, December 13, 20022 at her home in Clayton, New Mexico.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 19, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Kenneth W. Tidmore, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the Grenville Cemetery in Grenville, New Mexico by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Wanda Leedean “Deanie” (Weese) Swanson was born on October 17, 1951, in Clayton, New Mexico to Virgil Enoch Weese and Fern Elva (Jones) Weese. She attended school in Clayton and graduated from Clayton High School in 1969. She married Charles Edwin “Thumper” Swanson on July 4, 1974, in Raton, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on November 18, 2007. In addition to her husband and parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her brothers Kenneth Weese and Bob Weese, her stepmom Wanda, nephews, Virgil Paye, David Bullard, and Russell Bullard, niece, Janet Wolffarth, brothers-in-law, Bill Bullard and Dale Wiggins.

SURVIVORS:

4 SISTERS: Kay Paye of Big Sandy, Texas, Sue Wiggins of Clayton, New Mexico and Wendy Russell and her husband Newt and Kim Graves and her husband Craig all of Wheatland, Wyoming.

2 SISTERS-IN-LAW: Donna Weese of Big Sandy, Texas, and Fawn Weese of Grenville, New Mexico.

4 BROTHERS-IN-LAW: David Swanson and his wife Mercy of Raton, New Mexico, Michael Swanson and Wally Swanson both of Monterey, California and Murray Swanson and his wife Julie of Coquille, Oregon.

And numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
