In Loving Memory of Anita Louise Phillips

Anita Louise Phillips left this world behind on November 19, 2022.  Our beloved mother, aunt, Nona, and friend grew weary of the fight and left us peacefully, while surrounded by her loved ones.

Anita was born to the late Fiero and Enis (Arcangeli) Quartieri on August 8, 1950.  She spent her childhood in Maxwell and graduated as valedictorian of her class in 1968.  Shortly after graduation, she met and married Lory Phillips.   The two of them would go on to share a lifetime of love, work, and adventure.  Anita and Lory enjoyed life and lived it well. They attended many concerts, parties, horse races, and sporting events. Anita spent many years working at the Raton Holiday Inn before joining her husband and sons when the family purchased KCRT Radio.   Anita would continue her valuable role at the radio station for 30 years, even up until her final days. Anita was kind and generous and treated all of her employees as family.  Anita was proud of her Italian heritage and her family meant the world to her.  Her absence leaves a hole that can never be filled.

Anita is survived by her brother, John Quartier and wife Rachel, sister in law Jody Bomar, sons David Phillips and partner Lisa Turgeon,  Jason Phillips and wife Tenelle, nieces, Cindi Berry (Scott), and Sandy Chavez (Chris), nephews Rodney Gabol, Michael Quartieri (Rosa) and Steven Quartieri. She is also survived by her grandchildren whom she adored Stone, Abigail, Samantha, and Ella Phillips.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Lory Phillips, sister Lucille Gabol, and brother-in-laws Jackie Phillips and Wayne Bomar.

A celebration of Anita’s life will be held at the Lighthouse Church in Raton on December 17, 2022, at 10:00 AM with a reception to immediately follow at the Raton Elks Lodge.
