OBITUARY- MARILYN DECKER
Our beloved Mom and Nanna left us on November 9, 2022, at MCMC in Raton, after a long illness.
Marilyn Alys Decker was born on November 26, 1933, to Zenas and Margaret Ward. She grew up in Cimarron, New Mexico, and had many fond memories of her youth. She married Cecil Decker on June 3, 1950. Marilyn was a vibrant, cheerful lady, and the best Mom and Nanna around. She was always on the go and worked at Del Rose and Mode O’Day dress shops, as well as working in the Turf Club at La Mesa Park. She was a volunteer for the Hospital Auxiliary. She was quite a good bowler and golfer, and she and Cecil were famous for their dancing, on a day when there were so many dances! She really enjoyed life. They had two children and she was quite active in their childhoods, with piano lessons and being a girl scout leader.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, her brother Tom Ward and her sister, Patricia Hanson, as well as by triplet great-grandsons, Jaxon, Logan, and Asher Floersheim.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Cecil, Son Gary and his children, his Son Dawson and Crystal, along with their children Addison and Tatum and his Daughter Farley and Blake Kaiser, along with their children, Avery, Lane, and Amilya, and Daughter, Jana and Ray Floersheim, along with their Children, Son Ryan and his children Madilyn and Mason, Daughter, Kara and Michael Davis and their children Payton, Rhett, Owen and Elayna, Son Ross and Laurie and their child Decker, and Son Tyson and his girlfriend, Anna.
Nanna will be truly missed. A private family memorial will take place. Because Marilyn loved all her pets throughout the years, donations may be made to the Raton Humane Society at P. O. Box 1321, or please just perform a good deed in her name.
