The Lady Tigers at 7-11 overall took to the court against the 15-4 Santa Fe Indian School Lady Braves for the final home match of the regular season Saturday afternoon, October 22, where the Lady Braves went back to Santa Fe with the 3-0 win.
Since it was the last home game of the regular season the seniors were honored since it would be the last regular season home match the would play on this court. Cyrena Ayon, Allison Gigante and Sophie Medina are the seniors this year.
In the JV match the Lady Tigers struggled during game one as SFIS took the lead and held the Lady Tigers at bay and pulling off a 9 point win. Game two, however was a bit more exciting as the game was tied at 10, 11 and 15 before Raton took the lead 22-18. The Lady Braves battled back nd tied the game at 22 then pulled away for the three point win.

The varsity match is one of those that had its high points for Raton but saw the Lady Braves take the lead in all three games and keep a good lead throughout. Game one was an eight point win for SFIS while game two was a blow out as Raton could only muster nine points. The Ladies had good play at the net with the tall girls, Samantha Phillips Cyrena Ayon and Giana Marez making blocks and slams but the Lady Braves were quick on the ball to keep it in play and eventually make the point. Game three saw the Lady Braves move out in front quickly and held Raton at bay and the 10 point win.
The Lady Tigers will be on the road this week with a match at West Vegas and then Robertson Saturday followed by a makeup game against Santa Fe Prep next week. Should standings stay the way they are Raton should host at least one district playoff game.
