Minerva Bernice Becker entered Heaven on October 4, 2022, at the Spanish Peaks Veteran’s Community Living Center in Walsenburg CO. She was 98.
Minerva arrived on this earth on May 26, 1924. She was the third oldest of twelve children born to Leo and Minerva Oberle. She and her husband Richard Frank Becker (deceased) lived in Missouri for many years and raised five children there before moving to Trinidad CO in 2006.
Her children include Reverend Richard Becker (deceased), Marcia (Cary) Woolgar of Phoenix AZ, Larry Becker (deceased), Debbie Egler (deceased), and Andrea (Curt) Woolgar of Menasha WI. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Minerva loved playing in the dirt and was especially successful at growing geraniums both in her room and in the patio areas at the Living Center. But her greatest passions were reciting her Rosary, doing word searches, and playing Bingo – her family knew not to interrupt her during Bingo time!
The family Minerva leaves behind will miss her greatly but take comfort in knowing she is truly happy to be laid to rest next to her two Richards.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Holy Trinity Church with the recitation of the Most Holy Rosary at 12:30 PM followed by the celebration of the Funeral Mass at 1 pm. Interment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements made under the direction of the Comi Funeral Home
