On September 9, 2022, Roberta Ellen Edwards (née Mojica) died in Raton, NM at the age of 74, after a long battle with cancer.
Roberta is survived by her husband, Daniel Scott Edwards, and siblings: Leon Mojica (wife: Vicki Mojica), Gale O’Leary (husband: Mike O’Leary), and Carlos Mojica (wife: Valerie Mojica). Roberta’s parents preceded her in death.
Roberta was born on February 5, 1948, in Denver, Colorado. She graduated from Douglas County high school in 1966. She went on to attend art school in Denver, Colorado. She later moved to Trinidad, Colorado, and continued to move south ending up in Raton, NM, where she met and married her husband Scott. They enjoyed a long marriage spanning 35 years.
Roberta was a talented artist with an inquisitive mind. She had a thirst for learning that couldn’t be quenched. She was self-taught in many areas of interest. If she wanted to learn something new, she would read books and figure it out on her own. She was an avid knitter, played numerous musical instruments, painted and was very creative. She loved nature and animals.
She faced her cancer battle with strength, grace, and aplomb. Her strength should be an inspiration to all! Roberta will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
No memorial service or funeral is planned at this time. Her family will gather in the spring to celebrate her life!
