Joe A. Acevedo, age 57, passed away Thursday, July 07, 2022, at his home in Raton, NM. He was born on October 21, 1964.
He was a lifelong resident of Raton. Joe dedicated his life to lending a helping hand to others with his carpenter and mechanic skills. He also enjoyed drawing and reading. His art skills were remarkable. He enjoyed his free time hanging out with his family & friends. He was always cracking jokes & always putting a smile on everyone’s face. He enjoyed listening to rock music and telling everyone crazy & memorable stories. Joe will forever be missed and always in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his father Joe Acevedo, Jr., mother Sadie R. Acevedo, brother Frank W. Acevedo, and son Joseph M. Acevedo, his paternal grandparents Joe S. Acevedo and Bertha Acevedo, his maternal grandparents John J. Tapia and Mela Tapia, and step-grandfather, Al P. Moore. He is survived by his daughter Angel L. Acevedo of Raton, NM, stepdaughter Domenique Barela of Raton, NM, and sister, Deborah Lucero of Gilbert, AZ. He is also survived by his grandchildren Sapphire, Eric, Izarius, Steven, Richie, DJ, and Sawyer.
A gathering for the burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Raton, NM on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 1:00 p. m. We ask that anyone who would like to join us for the last biker run to meet us at 12:45 pm at Alderette Pomeroy to line up & ride to the cemetery.
