In Loving Memory of Steve Andrew Blasi

Steve Andrew Blasi, age 65, passed away unexpectedly at home on August 25, 2022.

He was born in Trinidad, Colorado on June 5, 1957, to Billie Mae (Wozniak) and Dominic Blasi.

He attended area schools graduating from Trinidad Catholic High School in 1975.

Steve attended TSJC receiving a degree in Welding and Mechanics.

He worked and grew up in the gas business Wozniak Oil Company,  with his Grandpa Bill and his Father Dominic.

Also helped in the cable TV business , Wozniak TV.

Steve drove trucks in the gas field even before he could reach the pedals.

He then worked with his cousin Anthony Blasi for several years.

In 1982, Steve started his own trucking and excavating business. He also was employed by the BNSF Railroad for 30 years.

Over the years, Steve made many friends and worked with them professionally.  He worked with Dussart Towing, Jim Jolly Towing, M&M Repairs, Leone Sand and Gravel, and the Veltri Brothers Construction, to name a few.

In 2008, Steve met his future wife Barbie and on August 8, 2015, they were united in marriage.

Barbie had the utmost respect for him as she said he made her a better person and was truly a father to her children and raised them like they were his own.

Steve never knew a stranger and he had a big heart and would help anyone in need.

Preceding him in death are daughter, Crystal Gayle Avis, grandparents Myrtle and Bill  Wozniak, Bertha and Angelo Blasi, parents Billie and Dominic Blasi, father-in-law Roy Cooley, brother-in-law, Heath Green, niece, Rebecca Chyanne Cooley, and nephew Christopher Champion.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Barbie, children, Loretta Lynn Avis, Dalton Thomas Avis, Dustin Wayne Keeth, brother Dominic(Lori) Blasi Jr., Debbie (Fred) Crawford, mother-in-law, Mary Cooley,  brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael (Gloria) Cooley, Ron Cooley, JoAnn Cooley, Jennifer Cooley, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, many dear friends, and colleagues.

On Saturday, September 10, 2022, as per Steve’s  request, all his fellow truckers and friends are invited to meet at his residence  1133 Nickerson Ave., at 12:30 pm to follow in procession to Funeral Services to be held at the  First Christian Church beginning at 1pm  with Pastor Cary Nelson officiating.

Immediately following the services reception is to follow at the First Christian Parish Hall. Honorary Escorts are  Dave Rivera, Bruce Veltri, Dalton Avis, Dustin Keeth, Rick DeCristino, and Sam Maniscalco.

Inurnment at a later date.

Arrangements were made under the direction of the Comi Funeral Home.
