New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department hosts
44th Annual Conference on Aging
Agency hosts the first “hybrid” conference

SANTA FE — SANTA FE – The New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD) will be
hosting the 44th Annual Conference on Aging on September 7-8th, 2022. The conference will utilize a “hybrid”
format, with virtual workshops and an in-person option to attend watch parties at senior centers across the
state. Registration is free to all New Mexicans.
The conference’s theme is “Transforming the Future,” and will include workshops from community partners on
a variety of topics, including health and wellness, technology and innovation, and legal and financial resources
for seniors. Attendees will be addressed by the Governor and Lieutenant Governor as part of the first day’s
plenary session.
“Last year we hosted the conference completely virtually for the first time, and while we are continuing to
utilize the virtual platform again this year, I know our seniors are excited to have the option of in-person watch
parties” said ALTSD Cabinet Secretary Katrina Hotrum-Lopez. “This conference is an important networking
and social event for many of the older adults in our state, and we look forward to continuing the tradition again
this year, especially after being apart these past few years due to COVID.”
The conference will be immediately preceded on September 5th by the Aging Network’s Training for
Innovative Possibilities to Serve Seniors (TIPS).
