In Loving Memory of Rita Stoller UPDATE

A graveside memorial service for Rita and Bob Stoller will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 10 am at the Fairmont Cemetery in Raton.

STOLLER, RITA – Rita was born in Brownwood, TX in 1930 to Howard and Lora Meeker. She was raised in Deming, NM. Rita was the prom queen for Deming High School and graduated in 1947

She met the love of her life, Bob, while attending New Mexico State University. They married in 1951 and eventually moved to Raton, after living in England and Silver City. Rita was the adored mom to Linda, Ron, Bobbie and Bev and will forever live in their hearts when they speak in one of her “mom-isms”. She will also be remembered by her grandkids for her loving heart, amazing cooking, making up songs for everything and reading the daily funnies.

Rita was active in the Raton community as a member of the First United Methodist Church, Sunday school and bible school teacher, Brownie and Girl Scout leader, Girl Scout Cookie Chair, Cub Scouts leader, room mother at Kearney Elementary for 18 years in a row, 7th Street Coffee Club, Eastern Star, and ESA.

Rita is survived by her children Linda Yates (Peyton), Ron Stoller (Donna), Bobbie Goodloe, Bev Purtymun (Kevin), brother Max (Sue), grandchildren Brennan Orr (Ashley), Kevin Orr (Sarah), Mike Goodloe (Jennifer), Brianna Lohse (Kevin), Dillon Goodloe (Tiffany), Joshua Stoller (Claudia), Colleen Stoller, Tyler Purtymun, Hannah Purtymun, and 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband Bob, parents Howard and Lora Meeker, in-laws Harold and Josie Stoller, brother Charles, son-in-law Rob Goodloe, and cherished friend Barbara Price.
