Mary Ann Pompeo

Mary Ann Pompeo died peacefully at home in Maxwell on August 18, 2022, surrounded by family.
Mary Ann was born on November 17, 1931, to Lawrence Demchek and Mary Lojec in Raton, NM.
She attended school in Johnson Mesa and graduated from Raton High School in 1949. After graduation, she attended college at St. Mary’s in San Antonio, Texas. She returned to Raton and met and married the love of her life, her Tee-Pie, Domenic Pompeo.
In 1958, they were Blessed with their son Steve and in 1962 their daughter Elaine.
Mary Ann was employed by Maxwell Municipal Schools as a head cook until her retirement. She will always be remembered for the great foods she cooked and her love for the students. Mary Ann had so much faith and always prayed for everyone. Steve, Char, Jessica, Stephanie, and Damion, and our family and friends for the love and support of mom.
Mary Ann was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, and her daughter.
She is survived by her son Steve, her daughter-in-law Char Mondragon, her grandchildren; Jessica LaRossa, and her husband Mario of Henderson, NV. Stephanie Pompeo of Maxwell, NM., Damion Pompeo of Stuttgart, Germany, John Smith and Adie of Trinidad, CO., and Tiffani Smith of Raton, NM. Great grandchildren; Kyra, Nikos, Nova LaRossa, Caiden, Mariana, Peyton and Estrella Austin, Adeline, and Aspen Smith, and Cristian and Nico Romero. Numerous nephews and nieces. Mom is now free from pain and beginning to explore her eternal freedom with her Tee-Pie.
Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary will be on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Springer St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, recited by Connie Chavez, followed by The Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father John Brasher as the Celebrant. Rite of commitment and internment will follow in the Maxwell Cemetery.
A viewing for Mary Ann Pompeo will be on Friday, August 26, 2022, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. At the Springer Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home Chapel.
