            Louise Ann Ortiz was born on January 10th, 1940, to Frank and Juanita Gonzales. She went to her savior and lord on June 28th, 2022, at 5:25 pm. Louise is survived by her husband, the love of her life, Joe Ortiz, and children, Josette Encinias, Christine Borowski, and husband Jere, Carl Ortiz, Johanna Schenk, Levi Ortiz, Janelle Minson and husband Andrew, Catherine Garcia, and Brandi Hyland and husband Curt. Louise is also survived by her sisters Carmen Newman and husband Richard, Inez Baca and husband Joe, Rita Gonzales, Veronica Pollack, and husband Bill, and sister-in-law Precedes Ortiz and partner Eddie, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son Joseph, her parents, Frank and Juanita, sister, Bernadette, and brothers, Johnny, Tito, Sam, Levi, and Tommy.

            A Grandmother to 24 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 23 great-grandchildren, Louise was very busy loving and caring for each one in her own way. They all had a special place in her heart and would be treated to homemade tortillas and cinnamon rolls when they came to visit.

            Louise was a devout Catholic who spent her free time serving the Catholic Church in many roles. She loved singing in the choir, volunteering for the fiestas, leading catechism classes and making meaningful and lasting impacts on the lives of every student she had in her classes throughout the years.

            Louise will be dearly missed. She will be remembered by all who knew her. She loved her Raton community and is leaving behind friends and family who cared and loved her deeply.

Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be on July 13, 2022, recited by the Legion of Mary at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM with Father Bill Woytavich as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Arrangements for Louise Ann Ortiz are under the direction of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.
