Mattie May (Sanderson) Holman, age 89, died on Saturday, June 18, 2022, in Dalhart, Texas.
The family will receive friends at Hass Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Dr. Alberta Helton and Pastor Lori DeBose officiating. Burial will follow in the Texline Cemetery in Texline, Texas by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico. Mattie May (Sanderson) Holman was born on November 30, 1932, in Wheeler County, Texas to Grenvil L. Sanderson and Ollie Aurora (Anderson) Sanderson. She married John Weldon Holman on August 27, 1949, in Clovis, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on March 22, 1994. Mattie was a resident of Union County, New Mexico since 1964 and they farmed and ranched in the Sedan area. Mattie loved to go to church. While living in Sedan she attended the Sedan Church of God until it closed and then attended the Clayton Church of God. In 2004 she became a resident of Amarillo, Texas and she attended the Triumphant Truth Church in Amarillo. In addition to her husband and parents, Mattie was preceded in death by 1 son, Weldon Holman, Jr., a grandson, Nathan Holman, by 4 brothers and sisters, Hazel, Velma, Jr. and Bobby and by 3 brothers-in-law: Herman Holman. Rickey Carnes and Carl Peck.

1 DAUGHTER: Naoma Prichard and her husband Ron of Amarillo, Texas.
1 SON: Johnny Holman and his wife Rhonda of Sedan, New Mexico.

17 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
3 SISTERS: Margie Johnson and her husband Dick, Vernell Hiller and Bettie Smith all of Amarillo, Texas.
1 BROTHER: J. B. Sanderson and his wife Patricia of Amarillo, Texas.
2 BROTHERS-IN-LAW: Clyde Holman and his wife Hope of Amarillo, Texas, Norman Holman of Giddings, Texas.
3 SISTERS-IN-LAW: Dolly Holman of Houston, Texas, Darline Carnes of Grandbury, Texas and Sue Peck of Sudan, Texas.
