In Loving Memory of Kenneth Joseph (Ken) Martinet

CWO4 Kenneth J. Martinet

August 20, 1950 – May 27, 2022

Kenneth Joseph (Ken) Martinet, 71, of Trinidad, Colorado, went to be with his Savior on Friday, May 27, 2022, following a short illness. Ken will be remembered for his faith in God, for service to his country, and as a supportive and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and sibling.

Ken grew up in Trinidad, to which he returned later in life to once again call home. His parents, Tony and Ada Martinet, preceded him in death. He was loved by his mother Alice Gutierrez, who also preceded him in death. Ken enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps in 1971, serving his country for 24 years with tours in Kansas, North Carolina, and Japan before retiring, settling with his family in Pueblo, CO. While raising their family in Pueblo, Ken continued to serve his community and the youth of Pueblo as a soccer coach for two generations of young athletes through local school-based athletic teams and the Pueblo Sports and Soccer Association. He and the love of his life, Sally, also founded their small business, United Technology Solutions, which they ran for nearly two decades before finally ‘officially’ retiring to Trinidad in mid-2021.

Left behind to cherish his memory and legacy are his wife Sally; his children, Mellissa Martinet (Michael Naber); Sergeant Major Michael Martinet, USMC; Samantha Martinet; Tony Martinet (Elic Senter); Trevor Martinet; and Katie Long (Chance Long). He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, as well as several siblings, nieces and nephews, and special friends.

A memorial service in celebration of Ken’s life will be held at Fisher’s Peak Community Church on Friday, June 3, 2022, at 11:00 am, with military honors to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to either: Children’s Hospital Colorado – Colorado Springs Center for Cancer and Blood (www.supportchildrenscolorado.org) or the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org). Arrangements are being handled by Comi Funeral Home, and service details can be found at www.kencelebration.com.
