Celina Angelic Mares was welcomed into the arms of our Lord on April 21, 2022, at the age of 25. Celina was born on July 6. 1996 to Gilbert Mares and Debra Trujillo Mares.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s/St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Celina had an amazing heart and was outgoing. She always had a smile and a hug for anyone she met and knew. She lit up the room when she entered and was always eager to help anyone in need. Celina was the world to her parents and to her family and she will be dearly missed.
Celina is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents; Pete and Ramona Mares, Maternal grandfather; Joseph Bennie Trujillo. She is survived by her loving parents; brother Gilbert Mares Jr. (Carol) of Trinidad CO; nephew Jesse Mares of Trinidad CO. Maternal Grandmother Nettie Trujillo of Raton, NM. Paternal uncles Pete Mares Jr. of Raton, NM; John Mares (Lydia) of Greeley Co; Richard “Buddy” Gonzales of Raton, NM; Maternal Uncle, Ronnie Trujillo (Arlene Romero) of Denver Co; Aunts Lora Martinez (Jesse) of Raton, NM; Brenda Wagoner (Dale) of Las Vegas, NM. Cousins; Zachary Trujillo of Denver CO; Joseph Romero of Denver, CO; Jesse Martinez Jr. of Pueblo CO; Justin Martinez of Raton, NM; Valerie Martinez of Raton, NM; Kedrick Wagoner of Las Vegas, NM and Ashlyn Wagoner of Las Cruces, NM. She had two special cousins whom she considered her own, Adelicia and Kalese Sanchez of Raton, NM. She had numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved her.
Celina’s Life will be celebrated on May 11, 2022, at St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Most Holy Rosary at 11:00 a.m. recited by Frank Cimino followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. with Father Bill Woytavich officiating. Final resting place will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
