Angie Duran, Mom, Sister, Auntie, Grandma Angie, Grandma Duran, our beloved mother and grandmother went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a courageous battle with cancer.

Angie Duran was born March 20, 1934, in Maxwell, NM to Leo and Leonires Espinosa. She passed peacefully at the age of 88 in her home on April 8th, 2022 in Albuquerque, NM.

Angie Duran was proceeded in death by her late husband Eugene J. Duran, parents Leo and Leonires Espinosa, and siblings John Espinosa and Stella Trujillo.

Angie is survived by her three loving children: son Gene (wife Judy) Duran, of Raton, NM, daughter Donna (husband George) Ronquillo, of Albuquerque, NM, and son Anthony (wife Deanna) Duran of Albuquerque, NM. Grandchildren are Sonya (husband Gene) Olguin, Geno Duran, Felicia (husband Damian) Medina, Celina (husband Chris) Sanchez, Rachel (husband Andres) Duran, Gabriel (wife Aundria) Duran, Mandy (husband Moises) Morales, Adrian (wife Siobhan) Duran, Jaime Duran (husband Felipe Diaz), Shannon Morales, Joshua (wife Patricia) Duran, Elijah Duran, Mariah Duran, and Ezekiel Duran. She has twenty-three great-grandchildren and expecting one more along with 4 great-grandchildren and one on the way, two sisters (Annie Trujillo of Raton, NM and Susie Griego of Aurora, CO), and many nieces and nephews.

Angie loved life and enjoyed spending her time with her family. She loved to travel, attend concerts, and was an amazing cook. Angie served in the DAV & DAVA NM, she served in the Ladies Auxiliary as a commander from 1989-1993, she traveled to many states and conventions, she was a dedicated advocate for the Disabled American Veterans, she was well respected for her head position of her district, and all her dedication and hard work was recognized with numerous awards and certificates.

While Angie’s family mourns her passing, we cherish the knowledge that she is now free from pain and is in the Glory of God FOREVER and we will be reunited with her in God’s perfect timing.

There will be two Celebration of Life ceremonies:

  • Thursday, April 21st, 2022 at New Beginnings Church, 4770 Montgomery Blvd, Albuquerque, NM 87109 @ 11:00 am
  • Friday, April 22nd, 2022 at Mesa Church, 917 South 2nd St., Raton, NM 87740 @ 2 pm
