Raton hosted the Lady Tigers from Taos Friday April 15 for a wild double header with Taos taking the wins in both games.
Game one saw Taos take the lead and then find themselves tied late in the game. Scoring for Raton late in the came from a single and three batters in a row taking the hit on the body for bases. With the score tied at both eight and nine late in the game Taos managed to get one final run for the 10-9 win.
Taos pitcher Kendra Sandoval ended the game with a total of five hit batters and seven strikeouts with only two bases on balls. Raton pitcher Gianna Marez struggled a bit more than normal sending 12 batters to first base on balls. She managed six KOs and only to batters hit.
Game two was the wild one with Taos scoring five runs in the first and seven runs in the fifth and finished the game with three runs in the seventh. Taos also managed to put a run across the plate in the second, third and fourth innings. When Raton scored they did multiple runs per inning but fell short by six runs for the 18-12 loss.
Kendra Sandoval took the stripe for the Lady Tigers once again and ran up six strikeouts and only two bases on balls with only one batter taking the hit. Hayden Middlebrook was on the stripe for Raton in the second game and she took struggled a bit with only four KOs, four hit batters and five bases on balls.
