It was one of those afternoons where things just didn’t go very well for the Lady Tigers as the hosted the Lady Dons for a district double header Friday afternoon at Jim Wade Field in Raton.
The Lady Dons struck quick Making it a 3-0 ballgame in the first inning and added another run in the second. Raton put one across the plate in the second inning and Gianna Marez helped Raton tie the game in the third with a two run homer over the right field fence. By the end of the game it was a one point win for West 10-9. West pitcher Kylee Griego topped the game with six KOs while Raton pitcher Gianna Marez could only muster four strikeouts far fewer than she usually does in a game.
Game two was another story all together as West took the lead and just added the runs with a 5-0 lead in the first and added three more in the second and third innings. West went on to add another seven runs to finish off the Lady Tigers 15-2. Kylee Griego went the distance with another seven strikeouts. Raton pitcher Hayden Middlebrook managed to pull in three strikeouts.
