It was a windy Tuesday afternoon April 5th at Jim Wade Field where the Lady Tigers hosted the St Mikes Lady Horsemen for a single district game.
The Lady Tigers struck first after St Mikes went three up and a double play for the third out. Raton sent two players around the horn and went up 2-0 in the first inning. Raton then added four runs in the third and finished out by adding another six in the fourth for a 12-2 lead and the win to 10 run the Lady Horsemen.
Raton sent the ball sailing for nine hits while St Mikes could only muster two. Raton pitcher Giana Marez went the distance with eight strikeouts while Lady Horseman Mariah Valdez added seven strikeouts to her record.
