Kathy came into the world on July 18, 1961. She left us too soon as a devoted wife, daughter, sister, mother, and Nana (Nan) on March 27, 2022.
She was the first daughter of Irving Sr. and Elaine P. Johnson. She was born and raised in Raton, N.M. with her six brothers and two sisters.
Kathy is cherished in memory and survived by her husband, Robert (Buddy) DePrisco — whom she was married to for 10 years; her children, Danielle Avila, and Matthew Avila; along with her granddaughter, Danae — Nan’s beauty as she always called her; mother, Elaine P. Johnson; sisters, Wanda Garcia (Louie), and Christina Duran (Ray); and brothers, Jesse Johnson (Stephanie), Leon Johnson, Kenny Johnson (Rozanna), Joey Johnson, and David Johnson.
Kathy joins her father, Irving Johnson Sr.; brother, Irving Johnson Jr.; grandparents, Joe and Mary Johnson; grandfather, Joe Coca; grandparents, Rutilo and Ruby Ornelas; and great-grandparents, Anastacio and Florentina Coca.
The viewing for family and friends will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 7 at Lighthouse Church, 1310 South 2nd St., in Raton.
Celebration of Life for Kathy will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 8, at Lighthouse Church, with Pastor Monty McGowen Officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Arrangements have been made by Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home in Raton.
