Filbert Flores, (79) passed away March 14, 2022, at home surrounded by his Raton family. He is survived by his children Theresa Flores, Charlene Anderson (Gerry), Lorenzo Flores (Barbara), Consuelo Davis (Kevin), Ralph Flores, and Carl Flores, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, siblings Ida, Leo, Lydia, Carmen, Margaret, Bobby, Judy, and Richard, and his extended family Debra Deherrera and Ashley Medina. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sarita, his parents, Beatrice and Leonides Flores, his sister Esther, and his forever partner, Betty Lucero.
Filbert was born and raised in Raton, NM. Upon graduation, he joined the Navy and started a family in Washington state, with his first wife Patricia. He resided there for several years before he moved back to Raton where he spent the rest of his life with his extended family.
The Flores family would like to express their utmost appreciation to Debra DeHerrera, Ashley Medina, James Vigil, and Shyanne Jiron for their support over the last few years taking care of Fil. It’s what he wanted, and they carried out his wishes.
The Celebration of Life will be at Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home on March 29 at 11:00 am. A reception will be announced then. Burial will be at a future date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
