Lucille Archuleta Hanson, born July 7, 1938, went to be with our Lord and Savior, on March 13, 2022.
Lucille was born and raised in New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patricio and Alicia Archuleta, and her companion and love for 20+ years, Glen Hovland. She is survived by her children, Juanita (Robert) Margetts, Mary (James) Gibadlo, Shirley (Robert) O’Shea, Patrick (Brenda) Hanson and her grandchildren, Christina, Daniel, Christopher, Ryan, Katie, Aprille (Julian), Julia, Kylie, Hailee, and Christian. She is also survived by her brother, Patrick (Elaine) Archuleta Jr.
Lucille raised her family with her husband, Edward Hanson in Illinois.
She later returned to Wagon Mound where she and Glen made a life filled with love for the last 20 years. During this time, Lucille was also blessed with the support and love of Glen’s children, Debbie, LeeAnn, and Darrell.
Lucille was steadfast in her Catholic faith. Her life was filled with family and friends. Her cousins were a very important part of her life. She was always ready for an adventure and said “yes!” to all that was good.
Lucille was a dedicated, member of the Silver Spur and New Mexico CowBelles. Over the years, she served on numerous committees and held several offices. Most recently, she was serving as 1st Vice President. Lucille was instrumental in launching the Silver Spur Scholarship committee and served as the chair. She also chaired the Beef Promotion and Beef Education committees and served on the Christmas Bazaar committee. Her expertise in sales helped make the annual rummage sale a huge success. Lucille drew on her background in public health and served on the Health Fair committee where she ran the Health Fair booth in Wagon Mound with her close friend, Josie.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 18th from 5:30 to 7 pm at Santa Clara Church. The Rosary will be recited on Friday, March 18th, 2022 at 7 pm at Santa Clara Catholic Church. The funeral Mass will be Saturday, March 19th at 10 am. Pallbearers will be the following Daniel Gibadlo, Christopher Gibadlo, Ryan O’Shea, Patrick Hanson, Robert Margetts, and Patrick Archuleta.
Burial of Cremains will be held at a later date at Santa Clara Cemetery in Wagon Mound, NM.
