In Loving Memory of James “Jim” Howard Seagroves

James “Jim” Howard Seagroves, age 81, of Muleshoe, Texas, died Thursday, February 17, 2022, in Muleshoe. He was born November 7, 1940, in Merkel, Texas to Stanley Dawson and William Cleo (Henley) Seagroves. He married Peggy Arrington in Clayton, New Mexico on August 2, 1975.

Jim was a true cowboy. He loved horses. He enjoyed participating in rodeos, especially the broncs, bull riding, and team roping. Jim was a member of AQHA, NRA, and the 4-H. He was also an artist, specializing in pen and ink. Jim was a member of First Baptist Church in Muleshoe. He is preceded in death by parents and two sons, James Jarrett Seagroves and Robert Wayne Watson.

Jim is survived by his wife, Peggy; his two sons, Benjamin Seagroves and his wife, Jessie of Corpus Christi, Texas and Devern Younger and his wife, Nicole of Bertrand, Nebraska; his daughter, Reneé Seagroves of Poteet, Texas; his sister, Gayle Richerson and her husband, Ricky of Muleshoe, Texas; his brother, Robert Stanley Seagroves and his wife, Betty of West Cliff, Colorado; his eleven grandchildren; and his eighteen great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
